Keith Richards

"Well…another magical moment…

On January 10, 2006 I delivered a Gabon Ebony/Adirondack G2 to music icon, Keith Richards!! Needless to say it was an incredible experience. One thing I must say is that I was touched by the sincerity of the entire Rolling Stones organization. Jane Rose (Keith’s personal assistant of 30+ years) and Pierre Debeauport (Keith’s guitar tech for the past 22 years) made me feel most welcome and took good care of me during my visit.

Keith is a great guy and basically a happy musician. He LOVED the guitar and after a brief examination under the light over his pool table, he immediately went to the corner of the room, turned off the music, sat on the sofa and just started playing and singing songs. TASTY!! Ron Wood came in and joined the fun, followed by Charlie Watts (one of the nicest guys in the universe). Eventually, Mick showed up too. There are no words for what I was feeling. Does it get any cooler than that? I don’t think so!!

A little later in the evening, I learned from a Alan Clayton, of the back line crew, that Keith was indeed loving the guitar and that Ron and Mick REALLY like it too. All of the folks I met on the crew were wonderful people. And most of them have been with the Stones for 20+ years. I believe that speaks volumes about the type of people the Rolling Stones are and the type of organization they run.

It will take me months to come down from this one. Surreal does not even begin to describe the experience. I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity and experience. Most of all…I am thankful for all the music…."
